Our program is led by experienced volunteer coaches, many of whom are former wrestlers and alumni of the program.
All coaches maintain the same clearances required by Scranton School District coaches, ensuring a safe environment for every athlete.
Dave Morgan
Head Coach
A highly accomplished competitor and respected coach, Dave Morgan brings championship experience, collegiate leadership, and a passion for developing young athletes to the West Scranton Wrestling Alumni Junior Club.
A native of Scranton, Pennsylvania, Morgan established himself as one of the nation's top collegiate wrestlers at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, where he captured two NCAA Division III National Championships. During his collegiate career, he earned multiple NCAA All-American honors, cementing his place among the most accomplished wrestlers in the program's history.
Morgan currently serves as the Men's Wrestling Head Coach at Lackawanna College in Scranton, where he is building a culture centered on discipline, accountability, and competitive excellence. His collegiate coaching experience provides wrestlers with high-level technical instruction while emphasizing the importance of academics, character, and personal growth.
Throughout his coaching career, Morgan has helped develop numerous successful wrestlers, guiding athletes to success at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels. His commitment to individual development has produced conference champions, state qualifiers, collegiate wrestlers, and student-athletes who have continued their wrestling careers beyond high school.
As a coach with the West Scranton Wrestling Alumni Junior Club, Morgan is dedicated to creating a positive environment where young wrestlers learn the fundamentals of the sport while developing confidence, resilience, sportsmanship, and leadership. His philosophy is that success is measured not only by victories on the mat but also by the character built through hard work, perseverance, and teamwork.
Morgan's combination of championship credentials, collegiate coaching experience, and dedication to mentoring young athletes has made him one of the area's most respected wrestling coaches. He remains committed to strengthening the proud wrestling tradition of Northeastern Pennsylvania while preparing the next generation of wrestlers to succeed both in competition and in life.
